The New Thirst, Coming Soon
When we first built Thirst, we wanted to create a simpler way for people to find what really matters to them. So we started with Twitter, giving you the ability to see what made headlines, who was talking about it, and why it was important. It was a fantastic way to get the information you wanted in an easily digestible fashion without having felt like you missed out.
It’s been a little less than a year since we launched, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of positive responses we’ve received. To be named winner of the South by Southwest Accelerator competition and to come in first in GigaOM’s Launchpad contest was a thrilling experience.
However, nothing has excited us more than the feedback we’ve gotten from our fans. We can’t thank you enough for all the tweets, Facebook messages, and emails you’ve sent expressing your love for our product. Your enthusiasm has truly been inspiring! It’s a great feeling to know there are so many of you out there who share the same passion for Thirst as we do.
The outpouring of support has given us more than just confirmation that we are on to something, but a mandate to continue building what we originally set out to do: bridge the gap between how we get our news and where we engage with it.
People want to discover, share, and discuss what’s going on…all in one place. And we feel like if we can make sense of 140 characters and filter this endless stream down to what’s meaningful to us, then we could do the same for anything – or more specifically – everything. So that’s what we did:
We invite you to come check out the new Thirst, which will be released in the coming days. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates and a sneak peek into what we have in store. As of today, there will be no additional updates to the current version of Thirst. However, it will be available for your use over the course of the next few weeks as our users complete the transition to the new version.
We can’t wait to share the new Thirst with you, and hope you enjoy using it as much we have building it.
